For the front cover image, my model's make-up will be styled in a classic pin up girl style, it will be glamourous and bold inspired by marilyn monroe, to give the model a modern twist their hair will be styled in an on trend topkont.

For the second look my model will wear bold daring pink statement lipstick, her hair will be styled in nautral loose waves, that look effortless.

Costume Ideas

* my front cover image I plan for my model to wear a sheer pink blouse, with distressed denim shorts, the blouse reflects the current trend and the shorts a icon of rebellion and rocker chic.

*For the contents page and double page spread the model will be wearing a tea party dress, its femnine, on trend and bold with a retro tone from the 1940's its glamourous just like the pin-up girls from the era, the model will wear biker boots to add a modern twist/edge.

Image analysis: Rhianna

This image of Rhianna is an extreme close-up, the image has been manipulated so that there is a pink tint. Rhianna’s hair is bright red, red represents love, passion, anger, it is unconventional and reflects a rebellious aspect to her personality. Her make-up is compiled of bronze and nude shades, making her skin look glowing. Her eye make-up is dark and heavy drawing attention to her eyes. She is holding a rose between her teeth, her hand is partially covering her mouth drawing attention to the fact she is wearing two gold rings. From what you can see within the image she is wearing a fur coat. Her clothing and jewellery reflect a glamorous image. The use of the the prop of the rose represents love and passion emphasising the romantic tone of her album loud, which this image has been used inside of the cover

Image analysis: Lana del rey

In this image of Lana Del Rey she is in an outside neutral setting, she is standing against a barn yard door, this contrasts with her her hair makeup and clothing. She is wearing a vintage print t-shirt reading ‘Hollywood’ this relates to her stage name is a combination of the late old Hollywood actress Lana Turner and the Ford Del Rey. Her hair and makeup mirrors that off the 1930’s Hollywood fashion, she is wearing a mixture of classic gold jewellery, the Chanel earrings, she is making eye-contact with the camera and her facial expression is serious.

Image Analysis: Yasmin

In this image of Yasmin, the background is a natural setting, of what looks like a city, however the background is not in focus enough to make it out properly this has been done so the main focus is Yasmin. Her hair is styled in big natural waves, her eye-makeup is dark and heavy, drawing attention to her eyes instantly it is also similar to that of Amy Winehouse. We cannot see her outfit however we can see her chunky retro gold watch and necklace. She isn’t looking directly into the camera however she isn’t smiling her face looks thoughtful and distant.

Image analysis: Adele

In this Image of Adele she is against and netural beige background, it is a medium shot. She is wearing a classic sophisticated black dress, her hair is styled in a loose care-free bouffant and ponytail her hair and makeup reflect classic 60’s eye-makeup. Her body language contrasts with her style is she posed with her arms crossed with a cigarette in her mouth, this pose is typically masculine and therefore makes her look powerful the cigarette is a symbol of rebellion. This image of Adele reflects the edginess and gritty down-to-earth lyrics. Adele takes up most of the frame as she is the focus the lighting is dim the photo has been edited so the colour is less vibrant to add a vintage effect.

Image Analysis: Jessie J

In order to gain inspiration for my own Artist featuring in my music magazine I have analysed female artists who are part of the pop genre and their image, i.e the style of their hair make up clothes etc.

In this image of Jessie J she is against a grey gradient background making her the main focus in the image. She is wearing a black printed t-shirt with ‘Deep Purple’ a band formed in 1967 they are a English heavy metal band, this suggests Jessie’s own music tastes, it also reflects her own music when ‘Deep Purple’ first formed they were pioneers of the heavy metal genre, similarly Jessie J is a pioneer in music as a U.K female artist.  Her outfit has a retro rock star twist as she is wearing high-waisted skinny jeans and a leather jacket, reflecting the 70’s fashion. Her outfit has a modern twist as she is wearing Disney Minnie’s mouse ears, reflecting her childish fun side of her personality. She is also wearing hoop earrings, a urban fashion reflecting her background as she grew up in Redbridge, London. Her make-up is loud and pink, reflecting her feminity and loud bubbly personality. Her hair is styled in her trademark look of a straight Jet black bob, making instantly recognisable as Jessie J. She is smiling/laughing at the camera, showing she likes to have fun, her hands are placed on her waist drawing attention to her ‘Deep Purple’ t-shirt. The lighting is bright and focused on Jessie J as she is the main object in the frame, she has been positioned so she is central and takes up all the frame.
